Thanks for the info Garett. It is nice to know that Boa stands behind their product enough to offer a Lifetime Guarantee.

Great points on the shoe. It's certainly top-of-the line. Just one point (full disclosure: I work for Boa). Boa Technology offers a Dialed In for Life Guarantee. That is, the laces and reels are guaranteed for the lifetime of the shoe. Just go to the Boa website and click on the Guarantee, fill out the form, and we'll send you replacement reels and laces. The repair is super easy and we support it with printed instructions plus instructional videos on the site.

If you want to prolong the life of the system significantly, you can perform regular maintenance with a water spray bottle, spray-on silicone spray, and some paper towels. Basically, clean it out and cycle the laces so that they stay low-friction. Look for instructional videos on our site and the Specialized site.

Thanks for the review!

I am using a pair of the 2010 version, and love them, super comfort and super stiff soles, very light feels next to nuthing when riding.

Very easy to adjust on the fly when my feet gets swollen. Zero pressure points on the foot recommended to a few of my friends and most of them are very impressed. In fact impressed enough to buy a pair for themselves.

My arches are medium to low and I felt the shoe accommodated my foot well. Someone with high arches may need to use a footbed like the Green Specialized BG Footbed.

I found the lengths to be equivalent between my S-Works shoes and the Zxellium. In case you order the wrong size, we have free return shipping so you can easily send them back.

Dave,

I found the Zxelliums to fit slightly wider with a similar amount of volume in the toe box compared to my S-Works shoes. The S-Works fits me well too, but I think that's because the BOA system can tighten enough to give me a snug fit through my midfoot. I still feel like I have too much room in the toe box, but that's because the lower Velcro strap on the S-Works shoes does not tighten enough for my shallow foot.

I would rate the width and volume on the Zxellium as average-wide and definitely more accommodating than a Sidi. Another employee at our store who swears by these shoes has a wide foot. He was previously in an S-Works as well.

I hope this info is helpful and please let us know if you have any further questions. We offer free return shipping in the contiguous 48 states, so if you buy a pair and they don't fit, returning them is a breeze.
