Art’s Employee: Cory Sullivan
Position: Mechanic / Customer Service Representative
Bike: Santa Cruz Tallboy LTC
About the Dude: Cory Sullivan. The Man, the myth, the legend. If the picture above doesn’t tell you something about Cory, you need to get your eyes checked. With a character bigger than his oversized wheels, he never fails to coax out a laugh from any who venture near the Art’s service department. This tattoo emblazoned mechanic is almost as good at wrenching on a bike as he is at riding one, and that’s saying something. He’s been racing pro for two seasons, tackling both the California and parts of the Oregon Enduro series in stride. Cory is one to watch out for, snagging 2nd place in the Nevada State Championship Super D and 11th in the Nevada State Championship DH earlier this year. Cory has huge things to come this season and we’re proud to see him in an Art’s jersey every once in awhile.
About the Build: A professional rider deserves a professional bike and that is exactly what Cory built for himself here. Cory chose to start with a responsive and big hit ready carbon Santa Cruz Tallboy and dressed it up with all the bells and whistles. The BOS Kirk transforms the 140mm of VPP suspension into a ride that is plush on big hits, solid when pedaling, and confident through the turns. It perfectly accents the equally proficient Rock Shox Pike. A Race Face Next SL chain ring virtually eliminates the chance that Cory’s 1 x 10 Shimano drivetrain will ever lose the chain while ODI SDG Hansolo lock-ons ensure he never loses his grip either. An Easton Havoc 35 Handlebar and Stem makes that task even easier, providing increased stiffness and leverage so he can maneuver through the really rough stuff like it’s not even there. Slapping on a Kind Shock LEV Dropper was a no-brainer for the big hit, high speed runs that Cory lays down and a WTB Volt Race saddle makes sure he’s comfortable no matter what type of riding he tackles that day.
