Park Tool had a number of new tools on display that primarily cater to serious mechanics. Among these was an updated MLP-1.2 Master Link Tool that not only pinches masterlinks such as those made by KMC and SRAM, but now has the ability to spread the links as well for quicker installations. A new BBT-29 Bottom Bracket Tool was on hand to fit Shimano’s new Dura Ace 9000 bottom bracket and XTR 980 bottom bracket as well as FSA’s new BB386 MegaEvo threaded bottom bracket cups. Also on display from Park Tool was the MWF-1 Metric Flare Wrench that is designed to tighten down hydraulic brake compression fittings without crushing the fitting or rounding of the edges them. This is achieved through a 6-sided design that can still fit over a hydraulic line.
For all those home mechanics that service their own suspension forks Park now makes a set of high quality snap ring pliers called the RP-SET. If you have ever worked with cheap multipurpose hardware store snap ring pliers, then you know how badly these tools are needed.
