The team poses for the media at the conclusion of the presentation.

Hollywood, California – Cannondale officially announced their new Pro Cycling Team to the world. Art’s is on the scene to bring this event to you. The new team roster is: Ivan Basso, David Boily, Guillaume Boivin, Damiano Caruso, Ted King, Nariyuki Masuda, Moreno Moser, Peter Sagan, Cayetano Sarmiento, and Elia Viviani. Major supporting sponsors include Sidi, FSA, Vision, & Sugoi.

The paparazzi effect was in full force as riders posed in front of this team banner Hollywood style. Here we see Moreno Moser.

At 35 years old, Basso is the team’s top threat for the grand tours with the departure of Vincenzo Nibali to Astana. Peter Sagan is the team’s top sprinter after winning five stages of the Tour of California and three in the Tour de France, claiming the points classification in both. Young gun Moreno Moser will attempt to live up the hype surrounding his vast potential. Moser comes from a family of professional cyclists, including his uncle Francesco, winner of the 1984 Giro d’Italia.

Journalists and Dealers socialized while waiting for the riders to arrive.

The event took place at Paramount Studios beginning with a red carpet reception followed by the team presentation in the studio screening room. Bob Roll handled the introductions and the attendees were treated to a collection of cinematic videos of the team before each member rode their SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod’s down the aisles and up onto the stage. Sagan nonchalantly fired off a bunny hop leading into the ramp off stage before catching the backside of the ramp leading down to the aisle.

Riders rolled down the aisles and took their places encircling the attendees before streamers burst forth from the ceiling. The event was a bit surreal.

Following the team presentation we took a brief tour of Paramount’s back lot where plenty of television shows and movies that are familiar to any American were shot. In the streets of the Brooklyn-esque lot we were treated to some international cuisine and hobnobbed with the team members.

If you ever wondered what Peter Sagan does when he is not riding his bike, he watches himself on YouTube.

The after party was held at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood. While we were picking up a few drinks at the bar Peter Sagan walked up to the bartender to place an order. The voluptuous red-headed bartender politely pointed to the end of the line and told Sagan to get in it! As Sagan turned to leave she looked over at us and said, “No cutting.” We got a great laugh from that before informing her that she just sent the world’s fastest sprinter to the back of the line. She just shrugged, smiled and replied, “Then he shouldn’t have a problem waiting!”

The whole event was classy from start to finish and Cannondale has seriously upped the ante for team presentations! Take a look at the photo gallery below for an inside look at this amazing event.
