Art’s Employee: Evan Rudd
Position: Soft Goods Buyer
Bike: Cannondale Supersix Evo Hi-Mod
About The Build: The Cannondale Supersix Hi-Mod is one of the finest road frames on the market. Phenomenal handling, sprint inspiring stiffness, a surprisingly compliant rear triangle and a feathery weight make the Supersix dangerous in any race. That being said, a fine bike can’t do much without a fine pilot. Our very own soft goods buyer and Cat. 2 racer, Evan Rudd, rides the living hell out of this one. He doesn’t just take it out on weekends or clip in when it’s warm and sunny. He rides six days a week for hours at a time during peak road season. He may be a bit of a joker around the office, but he takes racing seriously and he’s pushed this Cannondale Supersix to its limits.
Built with a full SRAM Red group set and equipped with an ENVE 3.4 Tubular wheelset, this bike is primed for battle. Evan has a strong preference for hilly road and circuit races, which is why he took steps to keep the weight of this bike as low as possible. He opted for ENVE carbon road bars with a compact drop because he prefers the shorter drop and reach. I’m sure the fact that they are dead sexy swayed his opinion as well.
The distinct frame color of his Supersix stands out in the peloton and matches his Fremont Bank team kit perfectly. The paint is a refreshing departure from the black, white and red frames that seem to dominate the landscape. Many of the components on this build are stock but Evan made sure to customize the contact points to his liking. He opted for Speedplay Zero Stainless pedals and Lizard Skins DSP 2.5mm bar tape to ensure maximum comfort for those 5+ hour days on the saddle. Evan raced to eight top-seven finishes aboard this beauty in 2013 during his first full season as a Cat. 2.
