A bounty of new cycling shoes will hit the market in the next few months and we want to share some highlights so you can ready your feet for some snazzy new kicks.
Giro will debut a new material called Evofiber that fuses the best attributes of mesh and microfiber to create a fabric that repels water, improves breathability, increases durability and lowers weight. This wondrous material supposedly doesn’t stretch, yet remains supple. Those are some lofty claims we’ll eagerly put to the test when Giro’s shoes launch in October. Fluorescent orange is the color of the season, featured below on the Prolight SLX II.
The Giro Empire ACC will come in four colors in 2014 and will also feature Giro’s new Evofiber material.
On the mountain side, the Terraduro was created to meet the demands of all-mountain riding with a high-traction, lugged Vibram outsole. A stout nylon shank makes it pedal like an XC shoe while the grippy rubber outsole inspires confidence while scrambling over rocks and logs. The Terraduro will also be available in black.
The Privateer is a best-seller because of its durable upper and awesome fit. It’s also a great deal and looks pretty cool in the fluo orange.
