San Luis Obispo, CA — Last Saturday the World Bicycle Relief Poker Run fundraiser took place in downtown SLO to raise funds to provide bicycles for communities in Africa. The event was a huge success and gathered enough funds for pay for 60 bikes!
Art’s Cyclery has proudly sponsored this event for the last three years that offers games and prizes for participants that donate funds to World Bicycle Relief. Attendees went to local World Bicycle Relief supporting businesses and gathered a playing card from each business in order to put together a winning “poker hand.” The best hands won prizes at the finish area. Additional games and races were available as well that qualified participants for additional prize opportunities.
The whole event was a lot of fun and Art’s would like to offer a special thanks to all the many volunteers from the San Luis Obispo Rotaract club that worked so hard to make the event happen. We also want to thank Will King and Karen Arbuckle at SRAM for organizing the event and the SRAM Corporation for their ongoing financial support for World Bicycle Relief.
