Product Review: SRAM Rival 1X Road and Cyclocross Drivetrain

When SRAM released the Force CX1 group, they also delivered THIS comical CX1 Public Service Announcement along with it:

We knew that for SRAM, after releasing their Force CX1 group in March of 2014, it was only a matter of time until they released a 1x group for the masses, those of us who aren’t dedicated racers, or simply the rider on a budget. Released around April of 2015, this new SRAM group is known as Rival 1x.

Here at Art’s, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to ride the entire Rival 1x group for about 2 months prior to writing this review and have nothing but acclaim for these products. With incredible attention to details, unbeatable performance, and a killer pricepoint, SRAM’s Rival 1x group rocks.

AND…at the end of the day, it’s our opinion that for 95% of applications out there, a wide range 1x setup is the most functional setup. Speaking specifically about SRAM’s Rival 1x group, this group delivers impeccable fashion and function, all without a price tag that will have you sleeping on the couch or leaving you without extra money for beer, tires, and brake pads. For your 1x needs, cruise over to and take a look.
