Chris King components are often held up as the platonic ideal of what bicycle components should be. Every product King makes is incredibly precise, beautiful and serviceable. I would go so far as to call them heirloom components. Good enough to hand down to another generation that could continue to use them long into the future.
For our test we laced the Chris King ISO hub to a 32-hole ENVE Composites AM 29er rim with Sapim CX-Ray spokes laced 3-cross. Our quest for a no holds barred wheelset was accomplished, as they did not disappoint in the performance department. The overall combo was so good that I would call it “revelatory” in that these wheels reveal a level of performance that was hitherto unattainable, unimaginable actually. If you are short on dough, do yourself a favor and don’t ever demo a set. Felony theft records last forever.
