Pearl Izumi is one of the most trusted names in cycling. This well-deserved reputation is built on creating functional apparel for every cyclist on the road and trail. We got a glimpse of Pearl’s 2013 Fall/Winter collection, and while there are no major breakthroughs in terms of new products, there are a few noteworthy style and color updates.
Two new colors feature prominently in the Pearl Izumi lineup – electric blue and petrol blue. We’re fans of the electric blue as an accent on the mostly black jackets featured above.
The Pearl Izumi Elite Barrier Convertible Jacket is the most popular jacket in bike shops across the country. Not just the most popular Pearl jacket, the best-selling jacket in the industry. The zip-off sleeves converts the jacket into a vest, making it versatile enough to use year round. The 2013 version features all-new colors, including the two shown in the image above.
The PRO Barrier Lite Jacket gets a facelift in 2013 thanks to stretchy panels on the sides to improve fit and flexibility. This jacket is still super-light so you can stuff it in a jersey pocket for cold descents or unexpected weather. The screaming yellow/electric blue color caught our eye and is sure to catch the eye of motorists out on the road as well.
The re-designed Women’s Elite Softshell Jacket is for the ladies brave enough to ride in the dead of winter. This jacket supplies the best combination of warmth and weather protection thanks to the softshell material that insulates in addition to being windproof and water resistant. The styling and details on this jacket make it stand out in the crowd.
