Jessy Nelson is one of motocross’ brightest upcoming stars, currently ripping up the 250 class on a KTM. The San Luis Obispo County native has endured a litany of injuries, including the loss of a thumb when he was only eleven, and yet sits on the cusp of a successful elite-level career. Jessy has not finished outside of the Top Ten in any AMA SX race he’s entered in 2015. Those results also include three podiums with a first place finish in Anaheim.
We recently took the Troy Lee Designs rider out for a lunch ride on some nearby trails, and were duly impressed, but not at all surprised, at his prowess on human-powered cycles. Jessy powered climbs, railed turns, and smashed jumps, just as you would expect an athlete of his caliber would. Thanks Jessy!

Below are a few images from the 2006 Mammoth Motocross, where our co-owner Eric Benson visited Jessy Nelson to watch him race. This is back when Jessy was racing his Suzuki RM85! In Jessy’s earlier years, we got him onto his first bikes and have been fortunate enough to be involved in the process all the way until now…and we continue to do so. Recently, Jessy paid us a visit while on his “rest week” at home in Paso Robles and we were able to share an afternoon of bike riding with him…and boy does he move! Keep it up Jessy.
