This week’s entertainment includes a Vuelta preview, a crash-test video of a new helmet you don’t wear on your head plus Greg Minnaar ripping through the streets of San Francisco.
The Vuelta a España kicks off this weekend with plenty of pre-race story lines that will hopefully produce a more dramatic race than the snoozer that was the Tour de France. Alberto Contador is back after his six-month ban. Chris Froome is leading Team Sky, finally free from the shackles of Bradley Wiggins. Joaquim Rodriguez will be looking to avenge his shattered dreams from the Giro after loosing his lead to Ryder Hesjedal in the final TT. A host of others could contend for GC glory on the mountainous route including youngster Andrew Talansky of Garmin-Sharp. Here’s a brief video flyover of each stage.
Imagine a helmet you didn’t have to wear on your head. Tough to do, right? Check out the video below for a futuristic take on helmet design from the Swedish company Hovding. Is this the wave of the future or totally impractical technology?
This is a pretty cool video of Greg Minnaar that features clips of him shredding the streets of San Francisco intermingled with some World Cup footage resulting in a very cool mash up.
